"The employer shall instruct each employee in the
recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the
regulations applicable to his/her work environment to
control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to
illness or injury."

Regulations, Title 8
In accordance with the
California Code of Regulations, every California employer
must have a safety program that includes employee training
and instruction on general and job-specific safety and
health work practices. The construction industry is
specifically required to conduct "tailgate" or "toolbox"
safety meetings or equivalent, with their crews at least
every 10 working days, and for tunneling crews at least
weekly.
